Immerse yourself in the Literary Heritage and Culture of Wales. Explore the character of a small country and the personalities that give it life in this six week Celtic Collaborative class. Find yourself visiting a world of words through an eclectic collection of Welsh stories and poetry. We will take a look at the amusing, the dramatic, and the characters involved such as Dafydd ap Gwylim, John Ormand, Hedd Wyn, R. S. Thomas, Dylan Thomas and T. H. Jones and other notables such as Twm Sion Cati, Iolo Morganwg, and Murray Humphries. “We will not go gentle into this good class.” This six session class is $160. Instructor: John Dingley, a Welshman who has acted with Na Fianna Irish Theatre, Theatre in the Round,and the Celtic Collaborative, is also a storyteller whose show “The Greatest Pack of Lies You Ever Heard”featured in the Fringe Festival and the Irish Fair. He has recently written several “Timeless Caverns” novels for young adults set in mid-Wales. He likes to find the Celtic fun in the language that supposedly belongs to the English.
