Tobar an Dualchais/Kist o Riches is a landmark project to digitize, catalogue and make available online over 12,000 hours of ethnographic recordings made in Scotland in the 20th century. With over 30,000 tracks online so far, the project's website contains a vast store of cultural wealth in the form of traditional songs, music, stories, poetry, oral history and other kinds of material, and is comparable in size and substance to the Alan Lomax archive of sound recordings.
Chris Wright has worked as the project's Scots Song Cataloguer for over four years and has a wealth of experience in researching and performing traditional songs and ballads. He was also recently appointed the project's Scots Artist in Residence, and is currently promoting this valuable resource through talks, workshops and performances in Scotland and abroad.
