He currently plays around town in a few different groups, iincluding contra dance band Pig's Eye Landing, old-timestring band The Town Hall Stompers, a group called The Tune Jerks (old-time, bluegrass, French-Canadian, and some Irish), and a project called Corpse Reviver that focuses on music from the Anthology of American Folk Music. His main musical gig nowadays is playing the upright bass for the highly energetic string band, Pert Near Sandstone; when he's not out on the road with them, he often can be found playing for the local square dances.
