 Irish Gaelic Classes offered during fall semester: August 30-December 16th

 Mondays:  5:30-6:30  Teens
                 6:30-7:30  Family
 Wednesdays: 6:30-7:30 Children

 Cost: $5 per class per person!

Celtic Junction is delighted to offer Irish language classes for children and their parents. Grasp the opportunity to get in touch with your Irish heritage, add to your language repertoire, or simply have a go at something new. Through songs, rhymes and stories, children and parents will begin their pursuit of proficiency in Modern Irish Gaelic. 


Irish instructor Tom Jeffers is a native of Dublin, Ireland. He attended Gaelscoileanna (all-Irish speaking schools) in Dublin from the age of four and pursued the language in University. He graduated in 2007 from University College Dublin with a degree in Irish Gaelic and History. Tom was awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship in 2008, and has been filling the role of Irish Gaelic Teaching Assistant at the University of St. Thomas since. He is a passionate advocate of the Irish language and its promotion in Ireland and the United States. He is currently developing language learning material aimed specifically at North American learners of Irish Gaelic.

 

Scottish Highland Dancing is the traditional dancing of Scotland.  Each dance has a tale behind it - the origins of which are hundreds of years old. Kitty Hart is a well-known, and highly respected teacher of Scottish Highland Dance. Classes are offered on Saturday mornings in Studio Two. The Center for Irish Music is dedicated to handing down traditional music and song in various ways including weekly instruction, monthly group sessions, recitals, master classes and concerts with visiting and regional musicians, and student performance opportunities. We teach for the art of Irish dance and its rich cultural tradition, and welcome all levels of interest! Pop Wagner, our local (and internationally acclaimed) cowboy, craftsman and folk musician offers lessons in old-time fiddle and finger-style guitar.
